I think am dialed into the same wavelength because I’ve been thinking about this a lot. My narrative has been “it’s summer and it’s OK to take a break from art projects to enjoy the precious summer months outside.” And while that is true, I think I was downplaying my other forms of art – or strands of the web. I took a break from crafting recording projects on my computer, but I’ve been picking up my guitar and singing more. I think I had it in my head that one is “real art” while the other is just messing around. Like you said though, different strands of the same web. It’s silly that while messing around on the guitar, I had guilt about my other projects gathering dust. I also notice that as recording projects grow more complex, they also become daunting and I fear messing up. I don’t yet know what to do about that. But when I have momentum on a fresh project, it seems that its entirety is fluid and I can fearlessly pivot any direction. I wonder if you share that experience in your projects. Excited to see the art you share. Thanks for this writing. Successful day on “the web”!
Couldn't have said it more eloquently Corin! Always a good reminder that art is never something that can be put in a box. Often times the more I force a structure on my work, the more stuck I become in creating! Excited to see what comes from your web :)
